Nina Lehman visited the organic farm Pona
The international agricultural expert Nina Lehman visited Paata Tsulaia’s organic farm in Pona village of Lagodekhi municipality organized by Fruit Logistics. Biofarm Pona, which covers an area of up to 100 hectares, was founded in 2014. On the farm, they work in the direction of horticulture, fruit growing, viticulture, farming and beekeeping.
The Pona farm is also interesting in that the raw materials grown, which are ecologically safe, are processed on-site and offered to customers in the form of various products, including bread and bread flour, which are ground and baked on-site, as well as herbal tea and dried fruits, which are dried in the farm’s dryer plant. They say in the Pona farm that their goal is the development of biodynamic agriculture and the production of biologically clean products. “We want an agriculture that does not harm the environment and enriches it”, – Paata Tsulaia says.
Nina Lehman, who came to Georgia from Israel at the invitation of Fruit Logistics, is the founder and executive director of the international consulting organization Farmentor.
